Emily has worked in a variety of clinical settings, and has been in private practice in Northampton since 2005. She has also done post-graduate training in Shiatsu massage, and has completed a two-year Chinese herbal course with Sharon Weizenbaum of White Pine Healing Arts, with a focus on women’s health. Most recently, Emily traveled to Nanjing, China, in October of 2007, for three weeks of intensive study and clinical observation with Dr. Huang Huang, a teacher with a unique and effective approach to working with the classical Chinese herbal formulas.
Emily is a graduate of Wesleyan University and has a background in Western herbal medicine, polarity therapy, and organic farming. Before returning to school to study Chinese medicine, Emily created and ran a local, organic herbal products business (Revival Herbs) for five years.
Emily’s love of plants and of living a life close to the earth infuses her work as a healer. Her style is gentle and nurturing, spirited and dynamic. Integrating knowledge and intuition, she works together with each patient to help them move towards vibrant health. She embraces the multidimensional nature of healing that is the core of Chinese medicine.
