Healing With Herbal Therapy

Why Use Herbal Medicine?

For certain health conditions, Chinese herbs can bring lasting relief more effectively than acupuncture alone.  Generally there are few or no side effects.

Chinese herbal medicine is a beautifully precise system in which herbal formulas are custom-tailored not only to fit particular diseases or symptoms, but also to fit each individual person’s particular pattern of disharmony and constitution.  With this approach, the root of the problem gets addressed along with the symptoms or branches.

Chinese herbs can be used in conjunction with acupuncture or can be taken on their own.  The herbs are generally taken daily in the form of either teas or pills.  The formulas are often fine-tuned to address changes in symptoms as the patient’s health evolves.

My Pharmacy

I am one of a small handful of practitioners locally who maintains a full pharmacy of powdered Chinese herbs on site, with hundreds of individual herbs, which I mix into custom formulas.  I also maintain a selection of herbs in pill and tincture form and have a growing array of Western  herbs for tea blends .

I discuss individually with each client whether herbs would be appropriate and helpful for their situation, and what form of herbs (powders, pills, etc.) would make the most sense for them in terms of cost, convenience and efficacy.

Herb Safety and Quality

The herbs in my pharmacy are of a very high quality, being bought from the most reputable suppliers in the industry, with the highest standards.

Herbs purchased from these suppliers have undergone testing to be sure that the herbs do not contain heavy metals or pesticide residues, and to assure that the herb really is the plant or substance on the product label.

“I have been receiving acupuncture and Chinese medical herbs for over thirty years from various practitioners. I have also suffered off and on from terrible eczema, insomnia and digestive issues.

Since seeing Emily, my eczema has cleared up:  for two whole years I've been eczema free! I now go to her for tune-ups, and she has ushered me into a worry-free lifestyle that contains a simple tea remedy every night.

Although I lead a high-tension life with career and family, I am sleeping better, and my skin is great.”
